Bill Evans on music. What a great man…
This is my last post to eventherain - its been a nice little diary to keep for almost a year, i but have no staying power/am a chamleon/crave change regardless/have moved! ETC!

There is a planned cull of Badgers in England. It is totally wrong to kill these animals, and the idea that it will solve or even reduce the problem of Bovine TB is flawed (article here).
I walk very long distances each day, and have often seen Badgers in the evening. They are wonderful, intelligent creatures and there is NO humane way to kill such an animal.

PARTY ON!!!!!
OK. Let me make one thing clear. I do not know this man! And, usually, my reaction to men over 30 wearing T-shirts with ‘witty’ or ‘ironic’ slogans on is unprintable, even on the internet. However - after passing this particular Gent at the Hastings Carnival some weeks back, I am prepared to make an exception. This crazy granddad is a true individual, and he wears his madness well :)
A wonderful interview with my friend Fabrizio Paterlini on Whatever Takes Your Fancy. He is talking about why the internet is such a useful tool to musicians, especially those who don’t have the huge budget available to them to make and distribute phsyical versions of their music (let alone find a place for them on High Street shops). Read it here.
In contrast, I read recently that Prince said “the internet is over” and that he doesn’t want his music released online as it doesn’t pay him a big enough advance. What an arrogant, anachronistic, backwards view to take - the internet has broken open the monopoly that big labels and the press had over what artists can be heard by an audience and how audiences listen to and buy music. We may not all be able to afford massive studio costs or have the giant advertising and promotional budgets like Prince, but it doesn’t mean our music is invalid or that music by major label artists is actually any ‘better’.
I think that Prince is over!
Waste not, want not…
My new chairs - cost? £0.00 I salvaged them from a huge amount of furniture left in a skip. I only wish I could have carried back more…
